H and B Digital Lab Test: The new Panasonic Lumix 25mm f/1.4 Leica DG Summilux aspherical lens is an excellent lens if you want to take pictures at a medium distance range from people or objects, such as when taking portraits.

However, after testing it out for myself, I discovered it also works well with close-up shots even though it is not a macro lens.

If you take a look at some of the shots I took, the pictures came out very focused and well-defined, although a few of the shots taken of birds came out a bit blurry because they were moving and splashing around in the water.

Nevertheless, take a look at the sharpness of this lens, the clarity is quite stunning. You can see the luminosity reflecting off each little ripple in the water and you can see the both the detail and texture of the petals on the flowers.

I took these photos just a few hours ago and the weather is currently overcast and mostly cloudy with very little sunlight – which demonstrates that this lens also works superbly in low light situations as well.
