Sigma 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 DG Sample Images

Sigma 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 DG Sample Images

Below are several sample images taken with the Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG super-wide angle lens mounted on a Canon 5D Mark III.

This isn't a widely available lens, but we have it at H and B Digital for $699.99!  Call us at (212) 354-1341 for special pricing.

Performance & Handling

This fun lens is a great street shooter and landscape lens that catches very wide angle shots without a fisheye effect.  The images are quite sharp, with excellent detail and very good color representation and contrast.

Focusing is quick, although there isn't much of a range necessary at this wide angle.  There is some noise with focusing, but it is indistinguishable to anyone other than the shooter.  A lens hood is built in to protect the bulb-like front element, and the cap is actually a two-piece cap that offers further protection.

Samples

Here are some sample photos taken around Times Square on a hot June afternoon.  All photos were shot as JPEG and were subsequently reduced in file size but without retouching.  Photo info is stated in each caption.
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG:  1/60 sec. at f/8.0, ISO 200, at 15mm.
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG:  1/400 sec. at f/6.3, ISO 200, at 30mm.
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG:  1/400 sec. at f/6.3, ISO 200, at 15mm.
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG:  1/30 sec. at f/10.0, ISO 200, at 15mm.  This lens is great as a street shooter, and this is a particularly cool effect that is possible at its widest angles:  similar to a pan shot, walk and shoot forward and you'll get lots of motion at the edges!
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG:  1/200 sec. at f/10.0, ISO 200, at 15mm.  This shows the lens at its widest angle.
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG: 1/200 sec. at f/10.0, ISO 200, at 30mm.  This shows the lens at 30mm.
Sigma 15-30mm f/3.5-4.5 DG: 1/250 sec. at f/6.3, ISO 200, at 15mm.  Of course there are distortions, but with a lens this wide, that's part of the fun!
