Take Your Journey Into The Wild In Literally The Right Direction With The New Fujifilm FinePix XP30 Digital Camera

With freezing temps in NYC lingering in the low 20's and 30's, this bone-chilling winter we've been enduring so far feels like it is still in full effect. Fortunately, however, this has not stopped brands from releasing some incredible, all-weather digital cameras that can withstand both the bitter coldness that presently plaguing us as well as the blistering heat waves expected to rise in the months that lie ahead.

Although, the digital cameras that truly stand out are the impressive weather-ready digital cameras released this year designed to be more than just suitable for the weather conscious photographer – but built as sturdy as indestructible mini-tanks for the adventurous and nature loving photographer.

A good example of this is the newly released Fujifilm FinePix XP30 – a digital camera that is explicitly crafted for the great outdoors. But what makes the XP30 different from other digital cameras that are full waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof and dust/sandproof is the built-in GPS with Geo-tagging functionality, a feature that is seen for the first time ever in combination with the four-way protection.

With this innovative feature, locations you travel can be displayed either as longitude and latitude or by place name. Embedded in the XP30 memory is a list featuring close to half a million places of interest across the globe. When a shot is taken, the image is automatically tagged with location specific information which gives you the capability of to quickly find photos of a past place you've visited.

More time saving aspects include the built-in Photobook Assist function, if you want to create a photobook of a specific location you ventured you can use the tagged images on your camera of that location and then turn the pages of the book on the it's bright 2.7” LCD screen.

But that's not all! If you go exploring and stumble upon a location that you want to return to but fear you won’t remember where it is or how to get there, the camera’s Photo Navigation mode is an invaluable tool. Simply find any shot stored in your camera of that location and the XP30 will not only provide you with the distance of it from your current spot but will also work like a personal navigation system and show you the direction you need to travel to get there.

Plus, the Route Logging function is another attractive feature for those who want to re-trace their steps and to map a route of their adventure.  The XP30 stores location data every 10 minutes and once the images are downloaded to a computer through MyFinePix Studio (the included image viewing software), a map of the route in combination with the shots you took on the trip is formed using Google Maps.

The XP30 comes loaded with all the essentials as well – its rugged, ergonomic and outdoor model design is housed in a metal uni-body chassis ensuring durability. Additionally, the riveted front panel and efficient body shape is smartly colored in a two-tone scheme. Choose your XP30 in 1 of 3 different colors - black, green or orange. The XP30 in black makes it easy for you to disguise any debris collected on it from the natural elements. Or choose the XP30 in bright green or vibrant orange to easily find if dropped somewhere outdoors.

Additional features include a 14.2-megapixel sensor with CCD-shift image stabilization, a 5x optical zoom lens, 720p HD video capability, face detection, tracking auto focus and automatic panorama functionality.

This camera allows you to truly experience your adventures in the great outdoors because documenting it is quick and easy to do it allows you to spend more time enjoying your outing. Not only can it help you show your incredible tale in a sequential, organized and appealing manner, but it also gives you the option of literally retracing every step you took along the trip and as a result, the freedom of choosing to recreate your journey into the wild time and time again.
