Very good and accurate colors right out of the camera, with very good metering. Canon T5i with 18-55mm IS STM lens. 1/500 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 100, in Av mode, minimal crop, no post process. |
Excellent colors directly out of the camera. 1/200 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 100, at 50mm, in Av mode, no crop. |
Minimum focal distance is less than 10 inches; this taken at one foot away. Very good color representation and contrast. 1/640 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 100, at 55mm, in Av Mode. |
The STM lens is very quick focusing. 1/1250 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 200, at 35mm. |
You'll want to consider another lens if you're expecting to zoom in on subjects. Consider the excellent Canon 55-250mm AF-S IS. The above was cropped about 60%, and detail is not bad considering such crop. 1/200 sec. at f/9, ISO 100, at 55mm. |
Very good metering considering the bright light and difficult yellows. 1/640 sec. at f/4, ISO 400, at 32mm. |
The T5i and the kit lens are capable of taking some very sharp images! 1/800 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 200, at 55mm, about 2 feet from the flower. |
Bokeh (background blur) is pleasant enough with the 18-55mm STM kit lens. 1/400 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 200. |
Another nice sharp shot, and excellent handling of the difficult bright red colors. 1/125 sec. at f/5.6, ISO 100, 1.5 feet from subject. |
